Selections from Revelations 1–8

The apostle John’s visions, as recorded in the book of Revelation, unveil the central figure of Scripture in all His glory: Jesus Christ. He’s the Son of Man—the Savior who gave His life for all who believe. He’s the head of the church, the One to whom all must reverently submit. He’s both a lion and a lamb, the only One worthy to reign. He’s the righteous Judge who punishes sin and rebellion while graciously calling all to repentance and salvation. And He’s the King of kings and Lord of lords, the One who ultimately eradicates all evil and establishes a kingdom that will endure forever. In response to John’s visions, we must consider our own past, present, and future in light of the awesome person and work of Jesus Christ.
